Part B. CV SUMMARY
Mohamed Amine Abdennour has a PhD in Agronomy obtained in the University of Biskra
(Algeria) focuses on Hydro-Pedology. After an Engineering degree in Agricultural Hydraulics
at the Institute of Agronomy of Chlef, and a Master degree in Water and Environmental
science. My PhD in Agronomy is about soil salinity by applying geostatistics and Remote
Sensing entitled "Spatio-temporal variability of soil salinization in the irrigated perimeter of
Ziban (Biskra) - Contribution of geostatistics and remote sensing". I discussed publicly my
PhD thesis on 18 May 2021, with an honorable mention with unanimous congratulations of
the commission (Sobresaliente Cum Laude in Spanish).
I am now working on Environmental Sciences (Agronomy, Water, and Ecology) by using
Geographical Information Systems (GIS). This allows me to develop critical analysis and
synthesis skills. My wealth of knowledge encompasses a programming language (Python and
Google Earth Engine), artificial intelligence applied to environmental problems, predicting
and evaluating models.
I have published 12 peer-reviewed articles in Environmental Sciences as well as in Remote
Sensing, Geostatistics and GIS. I have reviewed articles for outstanding journals in
Cartography, Soil Science and Water Resources. I have also presented more than 8
contributions in relevant national and international thematic conferences in form of poster and
short communications. I have done internships and also a one-year scholarship in Spain.
During my training, I dealt with the classification of multi-source and multi-resolution
satellite images using both pixel and object-oriented approaches, validated by surveys and
field measurements. I also had to deal with big and complex data via GIS in very different
institutional and geographical contexts.
