List Data Files

For all of the examples and questions in the student text that have lists of data for the
TI-83 Plus calculator, the data has been saved in files included on this Teacher’s
Resource CD-ROM (all the data for a question is in one file, with the extension 8XG).
It can be transferred quickly to one calculator and then out to other calculators in
the classroom.

Transferring List Data Files to Your TI-83 (Plus)

To begin the transfer from the Teacher’s Resource CD-ROM to the calculator, you will
need software such as TI-Graph Link™ for the TI-83 Plus.

Using TI-Graph Link™ Software

Click on the Link menu. Select the Send To option and the RAM sub-option.

Find the file that you want to transfer to your calculator by selecting the appropriate
drive, directory, and file name. In this case, the file for page 7, Example 2, has been
selected. Click on the Add button and then the OK button. The lists will now be
transferred to your calculator and stored in L1 and L2.

If the software detects that there is already data in the lists, it will ask you to verify
that you would like to overwrite it with the data from the file. Click on the Replace
All button.

Check your lists. The data should be in L1 and L2.
