VSA System Indicators On with DTC U0122? Check Connector C201

Currently Applies To: ’08–12 Accord and ’10–11 Crosstour

Troubleshooting a vehicle for any of these symptoms?

• DTC U0122 (F-CAN malfunction - ECM/PCM to VSA modulator control unit) is set
• No HDS communication with the VSA
• Various VSA system indicators are on (ABS, BRAKE, or VSA)
2-pin connector C201 (behind the right side of the front bumper) could be the culprit. If it’s been damaged
or the connector halves are not completely snapped together (soft-set), which could happen in a general
repair or body shop repair near that connector, you can wind up with those symptoms.

That’s because the constant 12 volts being supplied through that connector from the under-hood fuse/relay
box to the fail safe relay (FSR +B) in the VSA modulator-control unit is cut. And without that voltage, the
unit won’t turn on.
Before diving into heavy troubleshooting, check connector C201 and make sure it’s not soft-set or
damaged. It could save you a lot of time and effort.
