Analyzing your arguments about your view/ Juvenile criminals are exempt from the
perspective: death sentence under the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Furthermore, mentally challenged criminals
are exempt from the death penalty. The
gravity of a capital offense committed by a
child or a mentally impaired person is
viewed as less severe based on mental
capabilities, and hence inflicting the death
sentence on them is viewed as excessively
severe but still there can be an injustice in
it.
Justifying your arguments about your view/ Other nations, including Australia, Canada,
perspective: Mexico, and all Council of Europe
members, have abolished the death
sentence. The death penalty has been
totally abolished in 75 nations throughout
the world, regardless of whether the
offense committed is a capital offense or
not. It is not essential in the Philippines
since our country has a poor legal system.
Most nations that use the death sentence
reserve the penalty for major or severe
offenses. Murder, terrorism, rape,
kidnapping and human trafficking, illicit
drug trafficking, and corruption and bribery
are examples of such crimes. Furthermore,
in certain states, sexual crimes such as
prostitution, homosexuality, and adultery
are punished by death. However, some
nations use the death sentence for minor
offenses such as general thievery and drug
trafficking.
