Greetings to the honourable chair and fellow delegates
Greenland-an arctic island which is a part of the kingdom of denmark and is covered with 80 percent ice,is seeing the most rapid global warming .that is increase of 3 degree c over the past 7 years and enormous chunks of ice break off its edges. The greenland is home to rich diversity of wildlife - such as Polar bear, hooded seal, blue whale and others.Due to the loss of sea ice ,species such as Polar bear find it difficult to hunt thus leading to a decline in their population..All these species are threatened and are losing their habitats. This shows the importance of this issue .In the past few years Denmark and its allies have tried to cope with this subject by introducing laws and policies about reducing carbon emissions. The Climate Act sets a target to reduce Denmark's emissions by 70 percent in 2030.In Copenhagen there has been a minimal usage of automobiles by replacing them with bicycles ,.this not only ensures reduction in the emission but is also economically efficient to the people.and last year half of the electricity used is derived from wind energy.Denmark is a great example ,Their economy has grown while emissions have declined.however such action is yet to be taken in the majority of the world.Delegate of Denmark believes that with proper decision making we can certainly overcome this issue Thank You delegates of the house
