3 Field Experiences - engage in appropriate field experiences to synthesize and

apply the content and professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions identified in
these standards

_____________________________________________________________________

The artifact is the variety of field experience logs created throughout the ITEC
program at Kennesaw State University. I participated in a variety of field experiences
that required working with technology curriculum and instruction, supporting
teachers, working with students with disabilities, and working with English Language
Learners. The field experience logs incapsulate my journey towards mastery of
ISTE/PSC standards over the course of a year and a half.

The artifact demonstrates my ability to engage in field experiences to apply content

and professional knowledge. I collaborated with the Special Education team to apply
professional knowledge by supporting one of our students in a new adaptive
technology tool to support the student’s access to education. I demonstrated the skill
and disposition of collaborating with others by working closely with the student’s case
manager and parents. The artifact of field experience logs also demonstrates my
ability to apply professional knowledge and skills with troubleshooting to use
technology in my curriculum and instruction. I had to troubleshoot for different tools
in my classroom such as podcasts, videos, websites, and Canva projects.

In completing this artifact, I learned how important it is to seek out a knowledgeable

mentor in the field. The field experiences would have been quite difficult to
accomplish without a network of people willing to support continued professional
learning and development. I would also improve on expanding my network in order to
improve this artifact. I need a range and variety of knowledge and skills to improve
expertise in new and emerging technologies, especially in order to support my
colleagues and improve student engagement and learning.

The impact that went into creating this artifact improved school improvement, faculty
development, and student learning. The field experiences helped me improve best
practices regarding our diverse learners such as students with disabilities and English
Language Learners. Due to results from my experience, I worked with my
administration to improve school curriculum and instruction for our English Language
Learners. The artifact also helped improve faculty development as I participated in a
technology team to support new and returning teachers with technology in curriculum
and instruction. Student learning can be assessed by analyzing dashboard data through
our school’s Canvas Learning Management System.
