A. Preliminary Activities “Good Morning Class!”
“Good Morning Sir!”
“Let us pray first. May I request
Emmanuel
to please lead the prayer ”
(Emmanuel will lead the prayer)
(Checking of Attendance)
“Once I call your name just
open your camera and say
present.”
(Student will open their camera
and say present as the teacher calls
their names)
“Before we start our lesson,
these are my rules;
1.Always keep your camera
open.
2.For those who wish to recite,
simply open your microphone
and say, "Sir, may I be
recognized?" or just tap the raise
hand icon”

" Do you understand what we're

talking about class?"
“Yes Sir!”

“So, how was your weekend

Francis?”
“It was Great Sir!”
“That’s Good! Have you
enjoyed your
weekend bonding with your
family?”
“Of course sir! It was a lot of fun!”
"That's fantastic! Did you go to
the beach over the long
weekend?"
"Sir, yes! We're spending time
with our families and friends."
“Wow! That's good.

“Why are people always looking

for ways to unwind in our
natural environment?”
“sir! It is because nature can help
us relieve stress."
“Very good! Are you aware of
what is going on in our planet's
or mother earth's environment?
or did you come across any
issues that our nature is
currently dealing with?"
"Sir, yes!" We've seen various
scientists protest due to
environmental issues."
“Excellent class! As can be
seen, the hashtag
#LetEarthBreathe is now
trending on all social media
platforms. Scientists want
changes made as soon as
possible because they believe
the Earth only has 3-5 years
left."
“sir what should we do to protect
our planet?”
"In school, they taught us that
burning waste is bad; that is
correct; however, we are
unaware that there is something
we do in our daily lives that is
more dangerous than burning
garbage."
“What is it sir?”
“first using of cement and
concrete?”
“why sir?”
“As a material that creates the
majority of the world's bridges,
roads, dams, and construction,
concrete releases an extreme
amount CO2 each year. It's the
highest consumed product on
earth besides water.”
“so we need to stop using of
cement sir?”
“no, but we need to lessen the
emission of carbon dioxide”
“but how sir?”
"We can plant more trees; we
tend to forget that while we are
expanding our buildings and
structures in our places, we
forget to plant trees to balance
our ecosystem."
“that’s great sir! Starting today I
will plant a tree in our backyard”
"Excellent! Another reason is
the use of aerosols and the
production of CFCs."
“Sir what is aerosols and CFC’s?”
"Aerosols are spray products
such as baygon, Penshoppe
perfume, and fire extinguishers,
and while CFC is a gas
produced by aerosols, air
conditioners can also produce
CFCs. The use of aerosols is
extremely risky than burning
garbage."
"That's unfortunate, sir! In our
homes, we always use Penshoppe
perfume and even Baygon."

“Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
are to blame for global warming
since the 1970s and not carbon
dioxide, according to new
research from the University of
Waterloo published in the
International Journal of Modern
Physics B this week. CFCs are
already known to deplete ozone,
but in-depth statistical analysis
now shows that CFCs are also
the key driver in global climate
change, rather than carbon
dioxide (CO2) emissions.”

"As shown in the graph, CFC

emissions are faster than CO2
emissions because plants cannot
convert CFCs to oxygen,
causing CFCs to remain in our
ozone layer and destroy it.CFCs
are increasing the temperature
of our planet."
"Sir, that is very unfortunate
news."
“"Why are we discussing it?" Is
this something we're talking
about? What are your
thoughts? ”
"Yes, sir, because we are the ones
who are in charge of our planet."
“Very good! In connection with
our topic for today, I have a
question here. Have we
forgotten what our culture
teaches us? Or Is it still part of
our culture to destroy our
planet?, We'll talk about why
this question was asked later."
“okay sir!”
B. Reviewing previous The teacher will ask every
lesson or presenting the new student in the class (ONE
lesson STUDENT, ONE WORD)

"Now, Who can describe our

previous discussion in one

connection, we will talk about
the concepts, aspects, and
changes of culture and society”

"However, before we get into

our topic, let us first read what
EDWARD TYLOR has to say
about culture."

“he characterize culture as a

"Complex whole"
Which encompasses beliefs,
practices, traits, values,
attitudes, laws, norms, artifacts,
symbols, knowledge and
everything that a person learns
and shares as a member of the
society. A society cannot exist
apart from culture. People, as
members of the society, possess,
produce and also transmit
culture but they cannot consider
themeselves as culture. No
culture can exist without social
interactions in society ;
meanwhile, society cannot exist
in the absence of people who
have learned to live and work
together”

“It’s now time to deepen our

knowledge
to our topic today.”

D. Establishing a purpose for “Today, At the end of the

the lesson session, you are able to:

1. Explain concepts of culture

and society and relate it to a
real-life situation;
2. Show deep appreciation on
the collaboration between
our culture and society by
means of stating personal
pledge;
3. Trace terms that are related
to the study of culture and
the society, and give
examples of such concepts;
4. Analyze aspects of and
changes in culture and
society;
5. Appreciate the general
characteristics of culture as
means of enriching our own
culture; and

situations that best describe
the characteristics of
culture.

and practicing new skills #1 what is Culture,”
Discussion

read the definition of culture definition of Culture?”
and its characteristics. “Sir may I be recognize?”
“Yes Go ahead Gerald!”
The teacher will show a “Sir Culture can be defined as all
picture from the module, then the ways of life including arts,
ask a student to analyze it and beliefs and institutions of a
explain it. population that are passed down
from generation to generation.
Culture has been called "the way of
life for an entire society." As such,
it includes codes of manners, dress,
language, religion, rituals, art.
norms of behavior, such as law and
morality, and systems of belief.”
“Very good Gerald!”

"It is design for living which

means everything that we do is
part of our culture, “

“One example of culture is the

way you keep your beddings
clean in the morning”

“Even brushing your teeth and

washing your face is part of
your culture”
“Wow sir! Amazing”
"Edward Tylor claims that
culture is a complex whole,
formed by various aspects of life
such as language, attitude,
beliefs, and everything you see
on the screen."
“wow that’s absolutely amazing
sir!”
"Culture did not rely solely on
one aspect, which is why it is
referred to as a complex whole
because it was formed by many
aspects in life."

”Now let’s identify the different

characteristics of culture”

“First characteristics is,

CULTURE IS SOCIAL because
it is the product of behavior.”

”who wants to read the

definition of CULTURE IS
SOCIAL ?”
“Sir may I be recognize?”
“Yes James?”
“it develops through social
interaction. No man can acquire
culture without association with
others.”
“Very Good James! Culture is
social because socializing
allows you to learn more about
it. For example, Marco didn't
know how to speak Tagalog
well, not until he met his new
circle of friends. They were
speaking the said language. His
usual interactions and bonding
made him well versed in such
language, making him a good
communicator in Filipino.
That’s why the first
characteristics of culture is
social because it allows you to
socialize with others and at the
same time you are learning from
it."

own that differs from other
societies."

it.”
“Very Good Tim! A gay
fashion designer, Roberta,
migrated in the U.S.A since
2001. This year, he visited his
former employer in the
Philippines to be the guest

the "ORACION" at the age of
10. His grand parents were the
one who taught him the proper
way of praying.”

“there are 3 process of learning

culture, First one is
Enculturation, process of
learning your own culture.
Second Acculturation, process
of learning your different
culture. Lastly Assimilation,
when one completely gives up
own culture and follows the new
one.”

individuals of older generation).
Transmission of culture is made
possible by language, it is the main
vehicle of culture.."

pagmamano, etc. All these traits
were being transmitted to and
practice by his grandchildren. ”

CULTURE IS CONTINUOUS
AND CUMMULATIVE“

CONTINUOUS AND
CUMMULATIVE“?”
“Sir may I be recognize?”

changing condition of the Physical
world; hence, it is dynamic. ”
“very good Bruno!Mrs. Isabella
owned a famous restaurant in
their hometown. Its bestsellers
were the unique recipes of
bulalo and kare-kare. According
to her, their family managed to
run the business despite all the
challenges. In fact she inherited
