INTRODUCTION

This report demonstrates the achievement of Food &Beverage Supervision learning outcomes.

The report is based on Methodist Resort and Conference Centre where I carried out my industrial
attachment.

Methodist Resort and Conference Centre is situated in Lavington along Oloitokitok road off
Githanga road Lavington Green, in Nairobi. It is a hotel that caters for their customers’ needs and
they all have their customers in mind. The resort offers 100 tastefully designed rooms, 12
conference rooms, a 25-meter swimming pool with kids’ section and new gym and spa facility
for the days you want to pamper yourself. Methodist Resort has 3 beautiful lush gardens that are
perfect for weddings, graduations, parties, birthday or any other event and children's playground.
It offers a free WIFI and a 24-hour front desk. At Methodist Guest House there are 3 restaurants
offering Kenyan and international Cuisine. The property also has a business centre and a gift
shop.

The resort has individually decorated rooms that are equipped with a satellite TV, mosquito net
and a private bathroom which offers a bath or shower. Extras include a desk, telephone and some
units have a sitting area. All these facilities are supported by stores, purchasing and finance
departments.

It is a Christian institution whose mission is to provide and promote quality and competitive
hotel service in a friendly manner.

The report has three parts, based on the tasks given;


1. Development, management and evaluation of food and beverage operations
2. Banquets and functions
3. Supervision of the purchase and storage of food and beverages
