The Brindis Speech (p.2, para 4)

If the mother teaches her child her language in order that she may understand his
joys, his necessities, or his sorrows, Spain, as mother, teaches also her language
to the Philippines in spite of the opposition of those myopic men and pygmies,
who, desiring to insure the present,

Explaination :
Our mothers were our first teachers. The first things they taught us were to walk, talk,
and eat. As we continue to grow, they are the ones who guide and nurture us. I chose
these three lines because I remember my mother saying how wonderful she is. I can't
imagine all the sacrifices since we are in the womb for 9 months and those sleepless
nights when we are still new-born. My mother was my best teacher. Even though she
couldn't teach all the subjects in class, she taught me all the lessons in life that made
me brave and strong.
His mother, like Jose Rizal, was his first teacher, and he learned a lot from her at a
young age. For a long time, we were colonized by the Spaniards. They were able to
introduce their language, which we have adopted. The Spaniards served as the mother
of the Philippines. We have learned so much from them. They taught us to
communicate with them. Even though there are people who are against, as a mother,
they will do everything in their ability for us to learn something from them.
