JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MY OWN HOME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Organization Overview My Own Home (MOH) is a newly formed 501(c)(3)

nonprofit whose mission is to provide a variety of services that help make it possible for its members to continue living in their own homes and be actively engaged in Moscows vibrant civic and cultural life as they age. It is based on a proven model developed 10 years ago by Beacon Hill Village in Boston and is part of what is now called the village aging in place movement. MOH is the first village organization to be established in the state of Idaho. Position Summary The Executive Director will initially be responsible for helping to launch MOH. Once started, the Executive Director will be responsible for managing all day-to-day activities of the organization. A primary responsibility will be to ensure that all services are provided to members in a timely, friendly and efficient way. The Executive Director will also be responsible for volunteer and provider recruitment, supervision, evaluation and feedback and for developing new programs and services. This position will initially be part-time, 20 hours per week. Once funding and membership grows, the position will be expanded to full-time. Specific Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day activities of the organization, including membership, service delivery, data management and budgets. Assure timely response to all member requests for services or assistance, providing direct response when volunteer help is not available. Promote MOH in the community and grow member enrollment according to goals set by the Board of Directors. Act as liaison with other service organizations and local government entities. Oversee production of MOHs newsletter, media releases and other membership recruitment and informational materials. Oversight of vetting process of service providers and volunteers. Oversight of implementation of fundraising plans as developed by the Board of Directors, including grant writing and solicitation of donations. Analyze and evaluate vendor services and strategic partners, to determine programs and providers that best meet the needs of

MOH and make recommendations to the Board as appropriate. Prepare monthly reports for Board of Directors and attend all Board meetings. Assist treasurer in maintaining appropriate financial records and filing required reports. Qualifications High-energy, creative problem-solver with vision and passion for fulfilling MOHs mission. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and administrative skills Initiative and good judgment in prioritizing tasks. Tact, diplomacy and sense of humor. Flexibility and willingness to collaborate. Knowledgeable and comfortable using standard computer programs, such as Microsoft Office, etc. Experience working with budgets Experience working effectively with volunteers. Bachelors degree in social work or equivalent discipline or relevant work experience . Compensation Compensation will be tailored to the successful candidates level of experience. Directors Reporting Relationship & Authority The Executive Director position will report to and be directed by the President of the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will be an ex officio (non-voting) member of the Board of Directors. In accordance with sound principles of management, the Executive Director shall be given the necessary authority and responsibility to direct and carry out the day-to-day operations of MOH, subject to such policies as may be adopted by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors in turn will be responsible for setting the overall goals and objectives of MOH and shall have fiscal and legal responsibility for its assets and operations. The Executive Director shall act as the duly authorized agent of the Board of Directors in all matters approved by the Board of Directors and where the Board has not formally designated some other person to act.
