Activity 6.2.

My PAWN – Personal Affinity with Nature

A. Instructions:

• Look at the pictures of the environment, then analyze them by answering the following questions.

a. What do you see in the picture? What happened?

b. How do you feel about this picture? How do you feel about the destruction?

• Write your answer in the space following each picture.

a. What do you see in the picture? What happened?

 This image depicts a flood, but first let me define what a flood is. A flood is an overflow
of water that submerges land that is usually dry. Floods are an area of study in the
discipline of hydrology. They are the most common and widespread natural severe
weather event. Floods can look very different because flooding covers anything from a
few inches of water to several feet. They can also come on quickly or build gradually. I
believe it is happening now because a lot of trees have been cut, and trees are the ones
who absorb water in the soil, so now that a lot of trees have been cut, this is the result,
flooding the water in the dry area.
b. How do you feel about this picture? How do you feel about the destruction?

 I felt very disappointed in this picture because the reason why this happened was
because of what humans did, such as cutting trees and throwing garbage in
inappropriate places, such as in water. And I felt very sad about the destruction because
I know it's too late to change the situation in our country because a lot of people are
very stubborn about not following the rules.
a. What do you see in the picture? What happened?

 This image depicts a large amount of garbage in our rivers and streams. The reason for
this is that many people throw their garbage in the wrong place and do not follow the
rules, which is why this is happening now. Other people do not think about it when they
throw garbage in rivers and streams. Waste humans generate waste has been
detrimental to our environment for quite some time now. Humans are generating too
much trash and cannot deal with it in a sustainable way. Waste that is not
biodegradable and cannot be properly be recycled is filling our oceans and landfills.
Among the many impacts are interfering with the establishment of aquatic plants,
affecting the reproductive behavior of fish and other animals, and depleting the water of
dissolved oxygen as the wastes decompose.

b. How do you feel about this picture? How do you feel about the destruction?
 I feel about this picture was very sad because the garbage can be eaten by fish and
cause them to die due to the chemicals that are also thrown in the river, and our water
will become dirty and eventually cause water pollution. I am worried about the
destruction because it is possible that our fish will become endangered.
a. What do you see in the picture? What happened?
 I noticed smoke in this image, which contributes to air pollution. Air pollution has
serious effects on the human health. It happen because of these particles and gases
can be emitted by automobiles and trucks, factories, dust, pollen, mold spores,
volcanoes, and wildfires that can cause a air pollution.

b. How do you feel about this picture? How do you feel about the destruction?
 This picture made me sad because one of the reasons the smoke was that it caused air
pollution. I was afraid of the destruction because it has a lot of impact on our health and
can cause various diseases. The health effects of air pollution are severe one-third of
deaths from stroke, lung cancer, and heart disease are caused by air pollution.
a. What do you see in the picture? What happened?
 This picture clearly shows the destruction of forest, famously known as illegal
logging/deforestation. Trees were cut down for their woods and clean felling of forests
to create new agricultural or plantation land. Illegal logging is driven by a number of
economic forces, such as demand for raw materials, land grabbing and demand for
pasture for cattle.

c. How do you feel about this picture? How do you feel about the destruction?
 It is quite alarming because we all know that It has a devastating impact on some of the
world's most valuable remaining forests, and on the people who live in them and rely on
the resources that forests provide. Illegal logging is a driving force for a number of
environmental issues such as deforestation, soil erosion, causes huge carbon emissions
and biodiversity loss which can drive larger scale environmental crisis such as climate
change and other forms of environmental degradation to a point beyond repair.

a. What do you see in the picture? What happened?

 This image shows an example of mass animal death (catastrophic decline). Animals
dying all over the world today in huge numbers, due to the polluted state of the land,
sea and air which leads to habitat lose.

b. How do you feel about this picture? How do you feel about the destruction?
 It’s so sad to think that our actions in the environment doesn’t just affect us but also
these innocent creatures. Without these animals our ecosystem will be unbalance and
populations will undoubtedly continue to fall, driving wildlife to extinction and
threatening the integrity of the ecosystems on which we depend.
