Gender equality refers to equal treatment of women and man in laws and policies and equal access to resources and services within families, communities and society.
Implementation of gender equality is affected with many challenges. Some of them are gender inequality, impunity, weak
coordination and monitoring mechanisms at national level and inadequate human, technical and financial investments. These challenges are mostly faced by women
and girls. Overcoming these challenges may lead to better HIV outcomes.
To begin with, Gender inequality. Refers to equal and unfair treatment between males and females. This discrimination and barrier prevents women and girls from
exercising their rights accessing services and other opportunities, greatly increase their risk of experiencing violence. socially accepted gender norms and values, for
example in many societies girls are raised to be submissive and defer to male authority, while boys are taught to be controlling, dominant and aggressive, these norms
increase violence. The evident itvsi spread in various sectors of government and private. This challenge rise has women and girls lies in unraveling how harmful gender
attitude and roles are deeply ingrained across the fabric of societies and fostering values of mutual respect and equality. This challenge can be overcome through
training and deploying many female social workers. This will help fellow female members to interact freely without hiding the violence’s which they counter and
teaching them importance of being independent. Empowering girls and women, boys and men equal access to education employment and social services. This will
allow girls, women and boys to make independent decision on either sexual or reproductive and increasing access to social services will able them to get useful
information about family planning and hence improving outcomes of HIV has many will know effects of unprotected sex. Increasing campaigns against gender
violences may help to overcome this challenge as more people will get to know the effects of gender violence.
Second challenge is impunity. This refers to exemption from punishment. The lack of government accountability in comprehensive addressing violence against women
and girls is a significant obstacle to the ending of problem, these comes as lack of political will, inadequate legal protection, enforcement poor implementation of nation
commitment leads to pervasive impunity. This is particularly evident in country and communities with weak justice systems and where customary law practises and
widely used informal justice’s mechanisms may contradict international human rights standard. This hinder the women and girls access to formal justice by some
obstacles such as gender bias, discrimination attitude, social stigma and financial constraints. This can be end by adequate prosecution and punishment and equal
Weak coordination and monitoring mechanisms at national level is another challenge.Addressing violence against women and girls requires muiltisectoral approach,
involving minimum of the health, education,social legal and security sectors ,unlike stand alone sectors , the government fails to takebof charge of coordination for

decentralization may pose additional challenges to coordination and monitoring the implementation of policies and programme where addressing violence against

Challenges affecting implementation of gender has greatly affected the lives of girls and women. main challenge is government failing to increase more effort on such
issues. Dealing with these issues may reduce risk of HIV and hence improving outcomes has more people will respect another without considering his or her status.The
