For simplicity I have only drawn two coils in a group.

40-32=8 slots
SPP = slots per
pole per phase

elec 180 degree = Mec (2/48)x 180= mec 7.5 deg

no of slots for elec 180 degrees =( 288/360)x 7.5 = 6
which means 1-6 (6 slots)
lap winding pitch is 6.
if we select short pitch of 1 slot, then winding pitch = 5
1slot -> 1.25 mech degree -> 30 elec degrees

If we plot the Ksv equation in Matlab, we find that the Ksv eliminates all high order harmonics. Use the same method to plot pitch and distribution factor to
see its effects on harmonics.

The table above was constructed using the coil grouping sequence 333 (or 333,333 to cover 360 electrical degrees), which means 3 coil sides under the
phase A, 3 coil sides under C’, 3 coil sides under B and so forth. A total of 18 coil sides are required to complete a full 360 electrical degrees (as can be seen
each phase occupies 3 cells in the first row and 1 row is equivalent to 360 electrical degrees, so, each phase generates 60 electrical degrees as the rotor
rotates. This is also called the 60 electrical degrees belt design). The blue arrows drawn in the table are to indicate the connections of each coil (because the
winding is symmetrical therefore only the top coils are shown in the table, the bottom coil side is just 8 slots behind of its top coil side). It means the current
generated in coil 1 is connected to current generated in coil 2 in series and then to coil 3 and 19 etc. Remember that the currents generated under A’ will be
in the reverse direction because it is under a different polarity (this is why the arrows are drawn in the reverse direction). Sometimes the winding could be
progressive and retrogressive at the same time which makes the connection less obvious. The linkage between coil 3 and 10 is the group connector(the
purple part on first page). The linkage between coil 1 and 2 is the series connector (the green part on first page).

Let me explain the above connection diagram again using the winding diagram because this is the foundation for calculating harmonics later.
For a 4 parallel path winding, the above table is simply divided in 4 parts (path 1 phase A consists of red coils under pole pair 1 to pole pair 9, path 2 is then
from pole pair 10 to pole 18 under the same column, the path 3 and 4 are also highlighted in blue boxes in the table above).
