INTRODUCTION
In today’s globalized era, every sector across all corners of the world is affected by
the COVID 19 pandemic. Construction industry is one such most affected sector by
the pandemic. The effect can be seen not only on commercial, but even on legal and
managerial aspects of construction industry. Today, particularly in India, many legal
reforms are underway which may significantly affect the affairs of construction sector.
This program is designed by NICMAR, Hyderabad to impart quality knowledge on
legal aspects of construction industry.

Due to COVID19, Claims management is another area wherein a plethora of disputes

have arisen between the parties in construction industry. Hence, the program is
designed to instill the skills required for better management of claims and thereby
avoiding the possible occurrence of dispute.

The program is focused on some of the most important contemporary legal areas such
as, recent labour law reforms, challenges in land acquisition, environmental
legislations etc. related to construction sector

OBJECTIVES
The Programme is designed to fulfill the following training objectives:
 To enhance the knowledge of construction professionals in the area of legal
framework applicable in Construction Sector
 To hone the skills of the participants in preparation of claims and its
management

Dr Vikrant Sopan Yadav, LLM, PhD

Associate Professor,
NICMAR, Hyderabad

Dr Vikrant Yadav has completed Ph.D. in International Arbitration form

Pune University. He has more than seven years of teaching experience in
field of law. He has worked with some of the premier educational institutes
like, Modern Law College, Pune, Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune and
Government Law College, Mumbai. He has been associated with NICMAR,
Hyderabad since August 2020. In pursuance of academic excellence, he has
written more than 40 research papers and is at present member of YIAG,
London Court of International Arbitration, Young ICCA (International
Council for Commercial Arbitration) andYoung MCIA (Mumbai Center for
International Arbitration). He is also on the editorial panel of some reputed
interdisciplinary journals.

Prof. Prashanth Kumar Sreram, M.Tech.,

Assistant Professor,
NICMAR, Hyderabad

Prof. Prashanth Kumar Sreram, is a certified Project Management

Professional PMP® and M.Tech Construction Technology and Management,
with 11 years of Construction Project Management experience. With an avid
interest for transforming students to be industry ready, he moved to teaching
by joining as faculty at National Institute of Construction Management and
Research (NICMAR), Hyderabad, since 2018. His areas of interests include
Contract and Claims Management, Proposals Engineering and Project
Management. He is currently pursuing Ph.D at IIT Bombay.
