PSIII Professional Growth Plan

1. Develop rapport and relationships with students outside the classroom environment.

Rationale: Building relationships with students outside of the classroom can inform how we teach in the
classroom.

Suggested strategies:

 Get involved in extracurricular activities within the school


 Get on the health committee
 Score keep or help at sporting events
 Speak to the school health and wellness center to volunteer for the health committee

Indicators of Achievement: Involvement in at least one co-curricular activity.

Timeline: September – December 2022

2. To improve classroom management skills.

Rationale: Classroom management is a necessary skill to be able to create an environment where


learning can happen effectively.

Suggested strategies:

 Build relationships with students


 Classroom norms
 Welcome procedures
 Proximity
 Tone and cadence

Indicators of Achievement: Students are more engaged in class. Students are well regulated. Students
are communicating with respect.

3. To create lessons that are inclusive of all learners.

Rationale: I want to promote inclusivity and diversity within my classroom.

Suggested strategies:

 Getting to know learner profiles


 Build relationships with students
 Meeting with the learning support teacher for ideas and strategies
 Cultural sensitivity
Indicators of Achievement: All learners will be engaged in lessons. Students will feel welcome in the
classroom.
