1. What do you think is the impact of the content of the article as regards the
quality of education in relation to the following:
A. Anthropological
B. Philosophical
C. Legal
D. Sociological
Answer:
A. Anthropological
The impact of the article as regard to the quality of education in relation to
anthropological, it allows us a greater understanding of humanity’s many different
ways of living. And to me, that’s the most important thing we can do to survive
peacefully in a world that is growing ever closer through technology and amid this
pandemic that we are facing.
B. Philosophical
The impact of the article as regard to the quality of education in relation to
philosophical is the discipline of philosophy contributes in an indispensable way to
the realization of goals that should be fundamental to any institution of higher
learning: instilling habits of critical thinking in students; enhancing their reading,
writing, and public speaking skills; transmitting cultural heritages to them; stimulating
them to engage fundamental questions about reality, knowledge, and value.
C. Legal
With the article that I’ve read and listening of some interviews of the DepEd
Secretary Leonor Briones and reading of some related articles, as to legal basis,
based on Republic Act No. 7977, also known as “An Act to Lengthen the School
Calendar from Two Hundred (200) days to not more that Two Hundred Twenty (220)
Class Days,” the “school year shall start on the first Monday of June but not later
than the last day of August.”
As a response to the disruption in education brought about by the COVID-19
situation in the country, DepEd finalized a Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) and
announce that August 24 will be the opening of classes.
The start of the academic year 2020-2021 in August does not necessarily mean
elementary and high school students will physically return to schools. Classes can
be conducted online, until the government allows the reopening of school buildings,
which were temporarily closed to mitigate the spread of coronavirus disease.
D. Sociological
The impact of the article as regard to the quality of education in relation to
sociological is education serves several functions for society. These include
socialization, social integration, social placement, and social and cultural innovation.

2. As a public school teacher, assess your readiness in this what we call "new
normal" in the educational landscape based on the following aspect:
A. Learning Materials
B. ICT equipment and other gadgets
C. Proficiency and Efficiency in using ICT infrastructure
For those who are not in the teaching profession, and are working in the other
field, assess your readiness in your respective workplaces.
Answer:
As a public servant, specifically as the Barangay Secretary in our barangay, it is a
very challenging for us adopt in this new normal. But, as they say, we must be ready
and adopt changes in this ‘new normal’ that we are into.
As to the readiness in my workplace, I can say that I am 65%-ready because as of
now, we are still developing to be more resilient, still on the process of designing
sustainable and flexible community programs with the barangay officials,
understanding the impact of our current situation, strengthening the leadership and
governance to support effective strategic development and as of the moment, we are
re-aligning the budget to provide assistance to our barangaymates. With all of these
preparation that we are doing, I can say that we are 65%-ready to this new normal.

For item number 1, what do you think is the impact of the article in your own
perspective or point of view not as a teacher (for those not teaching and
unemployed) but as a citizen of the Republic.
Answer:
As a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines, the COVID-19 pandemic is definitely a
health issue. The severe short-term disruption has been felt by all families and has
greatly affected the education system not just in our country but in the whole world.
As what the Deped Secretary Leonor M. Briones said, “education must continue” and
reiterated to bring normalcy to the lives of our learners but their health and safety is
ultimately, is most important.
So with the crafted Learning Community Plan of DepEd, it ensures educational
continuity amid the crisis but safety of our learners and the whole school
communities are of utmost importance and must be protected at all times.
I support with the decision of the DepEd to continue education despite the crisis that
we are facing because there are alternative learning modalities to be adapted to
ensure continuity of education, and protection of learners from the COVID-19
pandemic depending on the situation in areas where schools are located.
Indeed, education will still be available despite the crisis whether in face-to-face,
blended learnings, distance learnings, homeschooling, and other modes of delivery
to be implemented to schools depending on the local COVID Risk Severity
Classification and compliance with minimum health standards.
