READING COMPREHENSION
This text is for number 6 to 10
Students Should Be Taught How To Utilize The Internet
In this age of technology, all Senior High School students should be required to learn the
Internet utilization. Several reasons could explain this urgent necessity.
One reason is that we are now live in the twenty-first century which requires some computer
use in most of the learning process. Accessing information, for example, can be obtained via e-library
that offers online books. We can read this online books only if we know how to use the Internet.
Another reason is that more and more companies are using computers. It’s getting almost
impossible to find a job that doesn’t require computer skills of some sort. Communications within the
company itself use electronic communications of some sort, such as e-mail or on line memos.
Even for jobs that people used to think of as labor, such as a mechanic, are now using
computers. All cars built today have a computer system built into them. The mechanic uses it to figure
out what’s wrong with the car. Moreover, the mechanic can surf the Internet to find out the best way to
fix the car faster, saving time and money.
From the reasons mentioned above, it is obvious that students need computer skills and utilize
the Internet in order to survive in the future. If they don’t learn it, they will fall behind in the job market
and in life.
