ME6215 – Technical Report Writing and Presentation

Continuous Assessment 3 (10 marks out of 60)

Objective:
To assess the students' ability to compose a brief technical report using LaTeX.

Task:
Take any technical topic of interest to you and prepare a brief report using LaTeX. Make sure the
report contains a cover page with your details, content page, list of figures, list of tables, abstract,
acknowledgement, three chapters (introduction; product comparison; conclusion), references and
appendices. For this task, you may use available templates in online websites and edit them
using web-based LaTeX editors. Further, make sure the report contains proper citations following
IEEE reference style and include some images and tables where necessary with suitable
captions, citations and cross-references.

Submission Format:
o Submit the PDF file to the LMS, which can be generated after formatting the LaTeX source
file (you may use an online LaTeX platform for this assignment)
o Before submission, make sure to rename your pdf file as:
ME6215_2021_ASS_3_EG_2018_****.pdf. Here, make sure to put your four-digit
registration number at the end in place of “****”
o Page limit: 20 pages
o The report will be assessed such that, 50% of the marks are allocated for the content and
50% of marks are for the formatting
