Introduction

Insect pests inflict severe damage to agricultural items meant for human
consumption and animal feed. In addition to direct losses caused by insects to plant
systems, fruits, and seeds, these biotic agents generate indirect losses by leaving
critical pollutants on product such as body parts or exoskeletons, insect eggs, and
off-doors. There are over six million insect species, yet just 20–30 of these are
serious crop pests. The key to proper insect pest management understands their
biology and behavior, the types of damage they cause, and the application of proper
integrated pest management in order to achieve a crop production system that
optimizes the use of natural resources, protects the environment, and maximizes
output in a sustainable manner.

Insect pests are the most common cause of biotic stress in crops. There are
hundreds of insects that can cause major crop damage and are controlled by
chemical pesticides, which are the main sources of pollution and induce the
formation and advancement of a number of health problems in humans and animals.
The common insect pest will identify by the following, in part one common insect
pest of rice and common insect pest of legumes, in part two the common insect pest
in root crops, in part 3 common insect pest in citrus and lastly the common insect
pest in leafy vegetables crops, it identify the taxonomic classification, life cycle,
physical features and identification, damage to crops and management.

The keys, pest descriptions, images, and indices make it easy to identify the
most common insect and mite pests of crops produced in backyards, greenhouses,
and gardens. A variety of methods can be used to identify a person. If damage is
visible but cannot be related to a specific insect species, the field keys to damage,
which appear at the beginning of each crop section, are an excellent place to start.
The key to pest orders and groups may be useful if specimens are available. Growers
should be aware of the sorts of pests that attack crops in their area and have a basic
understanding of pest biology to help limit losses due to insects and other pests.
Both are critical to the successful execution of management and control procedures.
