According to the Cambridge.org, it is the exchange of information and the expression of feeling that can result in understanding.
THE TWO BASIC TYPES OF COMMUNICATIONS
NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION VERBAL COMMUNICATION Signs, symbols, colors, gestures, body language & facial expressions Oral & Written Models of communication simplify the process by providing a visual representation of the various aspects of a communication encounter. It involves at least the seven major elements: 1. Sender- The person who intends to convey the message. 2. Ideas/Message- This is the subject matter of the communication. 3. Encoding- The conversion of subject matter into symbols. Since the subject matter of communication is theoretical and intangible, its further passing requires use of a certain symbols such as words, actions or pictures etc. 4. Communication Channel- The person who is interested in communicating has to choose the channel for sending the message whether it is formal or informal. 5. Receiver- is the person who receives the message from the sender. 6. Decoding- the person who receives the message from the communicator tries to convert the meaning into his complete understanding. 7.Feedback- is defined as a return of information about a result or the returned portion of a process. Models of Communication The purpose of a “model” is to offer a visual representation of a concept with the intent of facilitating the understanding of it. EXAMPLES These are some communications with the use of media: 1. The State of the Nation Address or SONA is delivered by the President of the Philippines every year through media outlets. 2.
