Time flies so fast that we have been focusing on things that we’d like to pursue more in life.

I can still
feel the nostalgia of having to genuinely laugh and to not care of things that I’m not yet concerned
about as a child. I miss those times when I could just run and bathe under the pouring rain and watch
my favorite cartoon movies. It is wonderful indeed that in the eyes of a child, everything is fun----to be
carefree, happy, and look at things innocently.

As a child, I can I say that I am very outgoing. I used to have a lot of friends. Every afternoon, we would
play in the streets. Too bad that this generation are now more focused on their gadgets and mobile
phones that they tend to forget how living is like. My friends and I used to play patintero, tumba-lata,
badminton, and many more. We’re practically living in the streets, doing fun things. During summer
break, we would go to Davao City with my siblings and have our vacation there. Our tita would let us
explore and let us visit famous places so that we can have fun. I can still remember when we went out to
swim in a certain hotel, I remember my sibling getting drowned because he was pushed by my cousin.
Luckily, I was able to save him from drowning. I know it’s very traumatizing, but that became a lesson for
my brother and cousin to always put their silliness aside, especially when we’re at a risky place.

On the other hand, we would also attend Vacation Bible Study (VBS) at our church in Davao every
summer break. We would be separated depending on our ages. Our teachers would teach us about
Jesus and we’d attend various competitions which I remember I became first place. Sometimes, on free
days, we would go to the oval grounds and fly our kites there. It is so refreshing and I’m so happy just
staring above with my kite flying freely as I run. What I love most with my childhood days is that I could
really depend on my family, being able to feel the care and love that we all crave for as a child. I am
beyond happy to experience what I was privileged to experience way back as not all were given the
privilege to do so.

I could only reminisce from here as I’m sitting on front of the window and staring at my laptop. Time
flies so fast that I would often find myself wondering if I could still go back to that feeling. How I wish to
experience it all once again. For now, all I could do is to move forward ahead towards reality.
