Objectives

 To improve taking off and measurement skills of a Water Supply System

Scenario

Mr. Indika is planning to construct a two storeyed residence building. All the drawings of
the project were prepared by a well reputed consultant firm in Colombo. Assume you are
in charged for the ‘building services’ in the tendering section of a reputed Consultancy
firm. Initially, you are requested to do Taking off for Water Supply System of the
Proposed Residence for Mr. Indika.

Task
You have been requested to take off quantities for cold water supply system for the
Proposed Residence for Mr Indika as shown in the Drawing No. BE2106/CWA/01,
BE2106/CWA/02 and in accordance with specifications.

Where any information is missing, specification is inadequate or exact nature of the


construction is unclear, you are required to make sensible assumptions. All assumptions
made shall be entered on the Query Sheet.

Methodology
Students shall work individually to produce the report
The report for taking off measurements shall be neatly handwritten on TDS sheets
The photographs of the handwritten report with query sheet shall be taken and upload as
a compiled document (PDF) to the Moodle with the CW brief
