Introduction and Intended Use

Congratulations on the purchase of your new BIXEPS device. These high-quality products are
manufactured with the greatest care and meet our high-quality standards, as well as the
international safety and production standards. Designed to be simple and easy to use, we
hope you will enjoy the benefits of BIXEPS.

Please ensure that you have completely read and understood this instruction manual before
installing or using BIXEPS. It contains important information for proper usage and operation
of the device. Non-observance with these instructions may lead to user injury or damage to
the unit.

BIXEPS is a safe and easy to operate wellness device. It uses proprietary low-energy, low
frequency magnetic fields to activate muscle safely and non-invasively without contraction,
without stress or strain. It is intended to improve the strength and function of users, promoting
overall fitness and well-being. Over time the positive benefits of muscle activation build, and
users may experience improvements in their strength, endurance and overall function.

General Information

BIXEPS sessions have been designed to take only ten (10) minutes. During which our unique
magnetic fields have been shown to activate the mitochondria (or the “powerhouse”) found
within muscle. This similar process of muscle-mitochondria activation occurs in muscles
during exercise and results in muscle adapting and improving its endurance and performance.
Activated muscles have also been shown to release myokines signals to moderate other
physiological functions in the rest of the body (e.g. inflammation, metabolism and recovery).

Most users have seen results with just one BIXEPS session each week. We recommend that
BIXEPS is not used more than twice each week, with consecutive sessions spaced 48
hours apart. BIXEPS is preferably applied to the lower limbs of users where possible, so as
to activate the larger volumes of muscles. We recommend alternating the limbs where BIXEPS
is applied each (e.g. first session should be applied to the left thigh with the next session
applied to the right) so as to spread the effects of BIXEPS throughout the body.

Things to note before use:

• BIXEPS should be used by adults only.

• Only use BIXEPS on one limb per session.
• As the health benefits of BIXEPS depend on the volume of muscles activated, we
recommend using BIXEPS application on the upper thighs of the leg where possible.
• BIXEPS should not be used on any other body parts (e.g. head).
• Most users do not experience any feelings or sensations when using BIXEPS.
However, should you at any time experience any adverse reactions while using our
device, please stop using the device and turn it off. Consult your physician where
necessary and report these adverse events to the manufacturer at
enquiry@quantumtx.com.
• Users typically see improvements in muscle tone and endurance, however results will
vary between users, depending on their existing health, fitness and lifestyle.

Disclaimer: BIXEPS is not a medical device and is not intended to treat, diagnose, cure
or prevent any disease or illness. The information in this manual does not intend to
recommend our device as a treatment or as a diagnosis for any illness or disease
condition.

Exclusions

While BIXEPS uses low strength magnetic signals, there are still adherent risks for persons
sensitive to magnetic fields. You should not use BIXEPS if you fit the following criteria:

a. You have existing Active Electronic Implants (e.g. pacemakers or defibrillators)

b. You had a recent surgical procedure in the last 6 months where muscle activation can
interfere with the healing response
c. You are pregnant

Electrical Safety

BIXEPS signals are low-frequency and operate within the non-ionizing realm of radio waves
(0-10kHz). The signals have low magnetic flux densities (1-2 MilliTesla) which is about 20-40
times the earths’ natural magnetic field (25-70 MicroTesla) and a thousand times lower than
a hospital Magnetic Resonance Imaging machines (1-3 Tesla). Our highest magnetic field
densities fall safely within human exposure restrictions defined by IEC 62311: Assessment of
electronic and electrical equipment related to human exposure restrictions for electromagnetic
fields (0 Hz to 300 GHz), which defines limits on exposure of people related to electric,
magnetic and electromagnetic fields.

BIXEPS devices have been tested to the following standards:

• IEC 60335: 2010, Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 1: General
requirements

• EN 62311: 2008, Assessment of electronic and electrical equipment related to human

exposure restrictions for electromagnetic fields (0 Hz - 300 GHz)

• EN 55014-1: 2017, Electromagnetic compatibility - Requirements for household

appliances, electric tools and similar apparatus - Part 1: Emission

• EN 55014-2: 2015, Electromagnetic compatibility - Requirements for household

appliances, electric tools and similar apparatus - Part 2: Immunity - Product family
standard

• EN IEC 61000-3-2: 2019, Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 3-2: Limits -

Limits for harmonic current emissions (equipment input current ≤16 A per phase)

• EN 61000-3-3: 2013, Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 3-3: Limits - Limitation

of voltage changes, voltage fluctuations and flicker in public low-voltage supply
systems, for equipment with rated current ≤ 16 A per phase and not subject to
conditional connection

Installation

• After unboxing, place device on a flat, even surface before operating it.
• Find a suitable, stable chair (preferably with a backrest) that can be used during
BIXEPS 10-minute sessions.
• Open the service port as seen in the schematic diagram below to adjust the height of
the field chamber.
• Aligning the bottom of the field chamber to the height of the chair by adjusting the
Height Adjustment Knob (as seen in the schematic below). Note: This should be a one-
time adjustment, but you may choose to make minor fine-tuned adjustments, if needed.
• Unwind the cable that can be found in the service port. Plug the power cord into the
Power Cord Receptacle and connect the other end to the wall socket with appropriate
voltage.

• Switch on the Main Switch of the device found in the service port. You should see the
BIXEPS splash screen as seen below on your screen once the device is powered up:

• If you have any difficulties with the set-up, please contact QuantumTX at
support@quantumtx.com.
