 Airport customs notified by the appropriate customs authority of
the country as an airport which shall be airports

that charges customs duties I.e. tariffs and other taxes on import
and export .
 In recent decades , the views on the functions of custom have considerably expanded
and now covers three basic issues : taxation, security, and trade facilitation.

 Each countries has its own laws and regulations for the importand export of goods into
and our of a country.

 A wide range of penalties are faced by those who break these laws.
Airport customs checking
 Customs duty in India is defined under the Customs Act, 1962 and enables the
government to levy duty on exports and imports, prohibit export
and import of goods, procedures for importing/exporting and
offenses, penalties, etc. All matters related to customs duty fall
under the Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC). The CBEC, in
turn, is a division of the Department of Revenue of the Ministry
of Finance. CBEC formulates policies that concern the collection
or levying of customs duties, customs duty evasion, smuggling

the immigration officer at the Indian airport.
What should There are 2 channels for customs clearance- the Red channel and
be declared the Green channel. Here is how they differ:
 The red channel is for passengers that are carrying prohibited items,
at customs in or amounts that are above the free allowance, in their baggage.

 The green channel is for passengers that don’t have items that
require a duty payment, or prohibited items, in their baggage.
 If you are carrying prohibited items but go through the Green
channel, you can be prosecuted and penalized, and your items
may be confiscated from you.
