THE PARABLE OF PRODIGAL SON

LUKE 15:11-32

GENRE:CRIME, DRAMA, PROCEDURAL

PROTAGONIST
Being betrayed by his younger son. His idiosyncrasy remains loving and understanding, even when
his younger son returned home after many of been away with not a penny to his name.

MAJOR CONFLICT
This parable, told by Jesus, speaks about the prodigal son who leaves his father's home to start his
own life. With the misuse of his money he ends up having to go back to the arms of his dad feeling
ashamed and asks for his forgiveness. The son was lost but then found

CHARACTER
He forgiving father - is a picture of God. •
the younger son - symbolizes the lost (the tax collectors and sinners of that day, Luke 15:1) •
the elder brother - represents the self- righteous (the Pharisees and teachers of the law of that day,
Luke 15:2).

SETTINGS
The Prodigal Son is recounted in Luke 15:11-32. A man had two sons. The younger son
asked his father to give him the money that his father has promised him, and his father
obliged. The younger son then left home and went to live in a 'far country'.

PLOT TWIST
In a SHOCKING final scene, the father turns on his son and comes at him with a knife,
intent on killing his own child. Fortunately, Malcolm was able to overpower his pops, but
that meant driving the dagger into Martin's gut, just as the cops closed in

MORAL LESSON
The main message of The Prodigal Son is that it doesn't matter how far we stray from
our Heavenly Father or how much we squander the gifts he provides, he is always
delighted when we turn back to him. His unconditional love is waiting for us to return
home where he greets us with open arms.

“ each person is precious to God, who celebrates the return of one who is lost.”
