The celebration of Mother Veronica’s Bi-centenary

1823 – 2023
It was immense joy for us to celebrate our Foundress, Mother Veronica’s 200 th
Birthday on the 2nd of October, at our Parish Church. 1 st of October, being a
Saturday, we the sisters of Carmel Convent Lalpol and Anandapally community
had a combined celebration.
We had entrance dance and unveiling of the frame of Mother Veronica, which
was followed by arati and garlanding of the frame of Mother Veronica. Before
Mass Sr. Ashajyoti gave an introduction in Bengali and after the Holy
Communion the prayer of Mother Veronica was prayed. The bookmark was
printed in Bengali and English, in which the prayer to Mother Veronica is
printed. For the 2nd Mass again the introduction was given by Sr. Ashajyoti and
prayer was prayed. For the 3rd Mass (English) again the introduction was read
by Sr. Rajni and prayed the prayer soon after the communion. Frs. Kanuaj and
Jonas gave an inspiring Homily, where they highlighted the life and works of
Mother Veronica, they also requested the faithful if any healing (miracles) takes
place to let him know or can inform the AC sisters.
Thus everything went on well. The frame of Mother Veronica is placed in the
Church and we daily recite the prayer after communion. The gems (sayings) of
Mother Veronica is placed near the Grotto in flash. This was the joined effort of
our communities.
