Learning Activity 1. Direction: Perform the given tasks with creativity and excellence. (30 Points)
Segmental sounds consist of vowels and consonants and associated to segmental phonemes that is similar, slightly
different sounds within a language - segmental phonemes are the sounds of "a," "e," "i," "o," and "u." Segments,
usually phonological units of the language, such as vowels and consonants, are of very short duration.
Poem Writing. Compose a four stanza poem that makes use of Diphthongs and Triphthongs.
Underline the segmental sounds being used.
`Mt. Diwata`
Steep mountains far from the city but there are many people handsome and pretty.
Then it was just a quiet before, now thousands of people see like a shore.
A few years later probably passed, and became a town of ascending at last.
It has been proven by the number of living people has increased until it became famous as they call.
“Mt Diwata” is the name, and yet you are truly beautiful.
Many tunnels here in surround, tallest tress surely you will be fall.
The stone is hard and dug underground, until the gold, you bag and drag.
Day and night they won`t stop working, a stone of gold that they were looking.
It is a gift from heaven, sources like a fountain, given to the mountain, for people have eaten`.
They work hard for the family, so they will have a good investment someday.
Until one day, there was a super typhoon, every gust of the wind accompanied by a storm.
As strong as we call in the name of Jesus, please help me Lord God, we beg you to save us!
From the hand of the flood, strong wind and so mad, every house is affected and it was really sad.
That typhoon cause landslide and feel me bad and the memories of valley will wash out like a flood.
Each of us was destined as a test, and every man there are trials then overcome to rest.
Oh! Mt. Diwata, I always pray for you, “My heart is restless until it rest in you.”
