supply, the risk of supply disruption, national capacity to distribute food and research efforts to
expand agricultural output.
Waste Management
According to Hawkins, Waste Management must be properly disposed of in order to avoid
adverse consequences to the general public’s health and to existing environmental conditions.
Properly dealing with organic waste can reduce the potential for environmental pollution while
also protecting the individual who is responsible for the discarded materials (Hawkins,2010).
Applying proper waste management practices would result in the reduction of costs incurred in
waste collection.
Packaging
According in The Greater Accra region in Ghana most produce needs packaging, packaging
serves three basic purposes. First, it provides a convenient way of handling and transporting
produce. Second, it provides protection for the produce. Finally, packaging can be used to divide
the produce into convenient units for retail sale and to make the produce more attractive to the
consumer, thus increasing the final sale price.
