Introduction: -

Jerry Baldwin, Gordon Bowker, and Zev Siegl established Starbucks in 1971, opening the

company's first location in Seattle close to the iconic Pike Place Market. Both their academic

backgrounds and their shared love of coffee and tea were traits shared by the three founders

of Starbucks (Bondarenko, 2015).

When Howard Schultz walked into the store in 1981, he had plans to establish a powerful

corporation and grow the high-end coffee industry under the name Starbucks. Starbucks Air

aims to accomplish product innovation, store expansion, and long-term service excellence

while offering its customers high-quality coffee (UKEssays, 2018). Under Schultz's

leadership, the network of coffee shops grew from having fewer than 20 outlets to more than

100 in just four years. After the company went public in 1992, Starbucks' growth remained

explosive. In 1996, Starbucks opened its first outlets outside of North America, and it soon

expanded to become the largest coffee company globally. By the end of the decade,

Starbucks had over 2,500 locations across 12 different countries (Bondarenko, 2015).

Starbucks Corp., also known as Starbucks, sells specialty coffee. Roasted specialty coffee is

promoted and sold in cafes. Through its shops, the company provides a range of coffee

blends, artisan beverages, housewares, and culinary products. Starbucks also sells prepared

beverages, pastries, whole bean, and ground coffee, as well as other alcoholic beverages.

Some of its brands include Teavana, Evolution Fresh, Starbucks Reserve, Princi, Seattle's

Best Coffee, and Ethos. Through its owned and licenced stores, the firm operates throughout

Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. (Global data, 2022)
1. What is the current “Safety Climate?” Describe in detail whether it is positive or

negative and why, be sure to include specific examples.

The company's workplace environment is quite positive. At Starbucks, everyone treats one

another with decency and respect. Every employee has the right to work in an environment

free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Employees are required to follow all

safety policies and procedures, aid in their enforcement by the appropriate authorities, take

reasonable measures to protect one another and themselves, take part in any required safety

training, and immediately report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions. To increase

workplace security, partners should be aware of all work safety information and training

provided to them and follow it. Journal

2. Is training required for employees? If so, provide specific details on the objectives and

the evaluations.

Starbucks has always appreciated the importance of the customer experience. Why would

somebody spend that much money on coffee without having a fantastic experience? Every

day, its more than 200,000 employees deliver that experience (Starbucks calls them partners).

Starbucks employs great individuals and has an outstanding training program to guarantee

that every time a consumer interacts with one of its partners, they have a great experience!

Starbucks training is continually changing, developing, and getting better. When new workers

start a job, they are seldom given the chance to make errors. They are usually accompanied

by a shop manager or learning coach as they get the hang of things. Starbucks uses the Tell,

Show, Do method. What baristas learn throughout training Tell. Show is when the learning

coach demonstrates how to do something precisely, and Do is when the barista does the task

while the learning coach watches to help, instruct, and commend them (Fowler, n.d.)
3. Are there any current H&S Management Systems in place? If so, provide details.
