ACTIVITY 1:

1. FORCE LABOR
 Force labor occurs when people are force to work against their will, under threat or
punishment with lower minimum wages and extensive working hours.
Saudi Arabia is one example of force labor. Recently I’ve watched document
about abuses against migrant domestic workers in Saudi Arabia.
Although she tried to escape, unfortunately
they caught her and beat to pulp again and again.
The doctor then underwent
intensive medical treatment and the criminial proceedings of her case have been done. The
court sentence the female emploey to 35 lashes for committing abuse but they dropped the
charges after 4 months. The court still awarded the domestic helper in compensation for the
types of injuries sustained.

Many domestic workers in Saudi Arabia migrate voluntarily but end up in force labor
situations because their employers do not approve their exit visas to leave the country,
withhold months/years of wages and lock them in the workplace.

2. CORRUPT OFFICIALDOM
 Corrupt officialdom is when the so-called public servants practice dishonesty and
corruption. The reason why corruption occurs is that many officials want to get rich.
Nowadays, one of the problems that we are facing is the corruption.
Corruption here in the philippines exists in all levels to the government. The Philippine
Health Insurance Corporation is an example of corruption in present day. The problem of
this more than anything victimizes the vulnerable, sick and poor Filipinos who are being
cheated on medical assistance. Thus, a more enhance and stronger governance response on
the part of Duterte administration are needed to restrain the corruption problem in
PhilHealth.
3. NO EQUALITY BEFORE THE LAW
 No equality before the law simply means abuse of power.
One example of this is Land Transportation Office o LTO.

4. RACIAL DISCRIMINATION
 Racial discrimination occurs when a person treated unequally because of their race,
color, descent, national or ethnic origin or immigrant status.
The following are some examples of situations wherein racism is present; black people
are not offered with jobs in countries dominated by white people because they are black, an
aeta in the Philippines is discriminated in exclusive schools because he or she is Aeta, and
chinese people are discriminated because they live in china where the virus originated.
