Rationale

Probiotic is an agent that promotes the development of microorganisms, particularly

those that have positive qualities. Moreover, it protect animals from infections, improved

immunity, decreased antibiotic use, and has a high safety index. Live microorganisms

called probiotics are added to animal feed as supplements or as feed additives. Probiotics,

sometimes referred to as direct-fed microorganisms, are helpful to the host and work

largely via influencing the animal's gastrointestinal tract (GIT). Through improvements to

gut health and nutrient utilisation, probiotic supplementation in the food can enhance

animal health and performance. Probiotic supplementation, for instance, has been shown

to help farm animals by improving their immune systems, altering their structural

makeup, and producing more cytokines, which protect the intestinal mucosa from

infections. Chicken Agriculture is one of the most common livelihood here in the

Philippines. Total chicken production from April to June 2022 was estimated at 463.12

thousand metric tons, liveweight. This represents an annual growth of 6.9 percent from

the previous year’s level of 433.11 thousand metric tons, liveweight. Aside from

However commercial chicken probiotics is costly, so I present to you an easy homemade

chicken probiotics made of Cucumber Cucumis Sativitus. Minerals are abundant in

cucumber, particularly potassium. The extremely cooling fruit is renowned for its cooling

and digestive abilities. The fruit's surface contains Lactobacillus, a powerful probiotic.

Osteoarthritis, hyperlipidemia (high blood levels of cholesterol or other lipids), high

blood pressure, and wound healing are all treated with cucumber. Chemicals in the fruit

may aid to lessen swelling (inflammation) and hasten the healing of wounds.

Description in Detail of Methods and Procedure

1. Collection and Preparation of Research Equipment for the expirementation

teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar, chicken waterer, empty distilled water container, clean

piece of cloth (as a cover of the container). Other materials such as beakers, glass jars,

stirrer, knife will be obtained from the Physics/Chemistry Laboratory of Antique National

School.

2. The Collection of Cucumber Cucumis sativus

The Cucumber Cucumis sativus will be collected from a house in San Jose,

Antique. It will be fermented by washing the cucumbers and soaking in an ice bath for

fifteen (15) minutes. Layer the spices, two (2) lbs cucumbers, two (2) garlic, dill and bay

days.

3. Steps in making Cucumber Cucumis sativus Probiotic Drink

Mix One (1) liter of distilled water, ¼ cup of brown sugar/muscovado, one (1)

teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar, in a empty distilled water container.

Cover the container with clean piece of cloth, wait till three (3) days.
Put one (1) Fermented Cucumber in the mixture and stir, cover the cointainer with

it’s actual lid. Make a hole in the center of the lid.

Wait for two (2) days, and it can be use as probiotic drink. Apply one (1) teaspoon

of Cucumber Cucumis sativus Probiotic Drink in chicken waterer. (In a few days, you can

see a gel-like on the top of the mixture, in that you can assure that the Cucumber

Cucumis sativus Probiotic Drink is well done.)

4. Ways of Proper Disposal

The left-over residues will be placed inside garbage bags and will be disposed

immediately after use. The residues and other used tools will be buried four (4) feet

below the ground in San Jose, Antique. The equipment, materials, and tools will be

thoroughly cleaned and sterilized.

5. Risk and Safety

The primary responsibility for proper hazard evaluations and risk assessments lies

within the person who will perform the experiment. That being said, the responsibility

will also be shared by the laboratory supervisor. The supervisor will be responsible for

ensuring that everyone involved in an experiment and those nearby understand the

evaluations and assessments. As part of a culture of safety, all of these groups will work

cooperatively to create a safe environment and to ensure that hazards will be

appropriately identified and assessed prior to beginning work.
