Opinions Editor The Cluster. As opinions editor for the newspaper, I selected and edited oped pieces to print, was responsible for organizing the layout of the two-page section, and wrote a bi-weekly column. Editor in Chief The Cluster. As Editor in Chief of the newspaper, I am responsible for overseeing the layout and editing of the paper, designing and organizing the layout of the front page, choosing which stories should be printed, managing the yearly budget of the newspaper, assuring that the newspaper be sent to the printer, overseeing the distribution of the newspaper and answering any questions that writers/editors/readers have about the newspaper. Student News Writer. As a student news writer for Mercer Marketing Communications I wrote and edited news releases for Mercer and assisted in compiling other information that appears in the news section of Mercers website and applying AP style to submissions from faculty members. Vice President Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. As vice president, I assist the president in compiling an agenda for the year and for each meeting and oversee the development and proceeds of committees within the chapter. President Society for Collegiate Journalists. As president I preside over meetings, am responsible for promotion of the organization, assist the treasurer in budgetary responsibilities, and, during the 2011-2012 school-year, helped organize the Society for Collegiate Journalists Biannual National Conference, which was held at Mercer University in March 2012. Vice President Georgia College Press Association. As vice president, I was responsible for filling in any duties that the president could not fulfill, and I put together the GCPA newsletter.
