1. Salt spray test

• Collect samples of the metal used in the construction.

• Using the spray nozzle, coat the samples with the saltwater solution.

• The solution will imitate a corrosive experiment.

• After a period of time, the appearance of the sample will be evaluated.

• This process will be repeated for the specified coatings or for certain hours.

2. Advantages of salt spray testing

• An accelerated corrosive attack has happened.

• Easier to predict how the material would react to the experiment.

• Most effective

• Relatively inexpensive

3. Importance of salt spray testing

• To prevent future occurrences of material rusting and collapsing

• to get more data and knowledge about materials

• Easier for the engineers to repair the structure of the jetty.

• To identify how well the metal can withstand the extreme situations

• Will mimic the real-life environment

• can determine how the material suits the intended purpose
