Reflective Cover Letter

When reading my portfolio I want people to see how you can write about anything like
your life just like my weekly blogs have been. You can tie things from your other classes and
write about them and make connections to SLO’s that we do weekly. When they open the
projects tab I want them to see the different types of writings we did in the class like annotated
bibliography, genre analysis, and best practice writings that help us explain our writing skills by
writing different types of projects. The readers that I think that are going to read this are the
students and the teacher of the class. The students are going to read this so they see another
example of a portfolio and to peer review my portfolio. The teacher is going to read this so they
can give me a final grade on my portfolio and make sure I earn the best grade possible for the
work that I put into this portfolio all semester long. The process of work for the projects was long
with finding the right format for the project, the writing of them and for some of them finding
sources to help support the topic that I’m writing about. For most of my topic I stayed in the
medical field and talked about lab reports and culturally responsiveness. I found the topic to be
very interesting but it was hard to find sources to help support my topic but I was able to find
some because the librarian sent me some and I just built off that. I found the peer reviewers
very helpful. There were a few minor mistakes in my portfolio but either way, they enjoyed and
liked how unique it was. They also enjoyed how genuine my blogs were and how it felt like they
could see what I’m going through every week. As the readers I want everyone to be able to
connect to my writing and see how writing can be connected to everything you do. I want my
portfolio to show me as a writer and they hopefully see the growth I’ve made from the beginning
to the end and they can see the growth and improvement. I hope my portfolio educates people
and they see writing is a key part of education. To help structure my essay I just did a simple
template that had the subtopics and the details that I’m talking about and then the sources to
back up the subtopics I’m talking about. When proofreading my work I didn’t make any changes
to them. I made sure most of the changes were during the writing process and I had very little
things to change in my work. I’ve learned a lot from this class like different types of writing and a
different citing format which is a lot easier than MLA and it helped increase my knowledge about
writing and when writing different types of story I have more ways to write them.
