Subject: METHODOLOGY OF GROUTING WORK FOR THE PROJECT "RAISING

OF SHAHPUR DAM (PHASE -1)"

With reference to above referred acceptance No., the subjected work has
been awarded to our company. The main scope of work includes the drilling / grouting work.
Before starting of physical work at site, we hereby submit the methodology of grouting work
for approval.

It is mentioned here that, the site of work has been visited by our team of
experts and the grouting plan prepared by the department have also been studied and it is
observed that depth of grout curtain in nullah bed is adequate but length / depth of grout
curtain in both abutments seems to be insufficient. As contact area of water and both
abutment is quite long and rock (limestone) is highly fractured in the area and there are
cavities and interconnected joints in the rock strata. Therefore seepage from both sides of
curtain and through bottom of grout curtain is expected.

On the basis of experience and opinion of our geological experts, the

following changes have been suggested in the best interest of work and to provide an
effective barrier against seepage;

1. Length of grout curtain may be extended 100 feet on both right and left abutments.
2. Depth of grout curtain provided in both abutments may be extended up to the bottom
level of grout curtain provided in the nullah bed.
