ACTIVITY 13

CHARACTERIZATION ON GREEK LOVERS

Directions: Characterize each of the Greek lovers you have chosen. (10 pts each of the lovers)

1. Hestia: She doesn't do much, though. She's the sweetest goddess, yet she's only portrayed within

the next few myths.

2. Asclepius, this same son of Apollo and the goddess of healing, is sensible.

3. Hebe, goddess of youth—just a nice, loving goddess, Heracles' wife and Zeus and Hera's devoted

daughter.

4. Hephaestus is a decent god who avoided drama. He can be clever and shrewd when dealing with

his mother, who abandoned him, or his faithless former best friend lover, Aphrodite, but he is usually

a brilliant, hard-working god who avoided drama.

5. Aglaia, the goddess of beauty, is Hephaestus' compassionate and loyal second wife. She constantly

fled the spotlight.

6. Three minor goddesses, such as the Three Graces, Nine Muses, and Three Horai, simply preside

over Olympus' pleasures or serve as handmaidens to the great Olympians and patrons of the art forms.

7. Psyche, goddess of the soul, is Eros' beautiful, charming, and loving wife. She experienced a lot as

a mortal princess, but after her apotheosis, she lived a peaceful divine life.

8. Hestia is the only one so far who has never had a tragic lover. She's also the goddess of motherhood,

and as such, she'd make an excellent wife. She was also considered the least severe and gentlest

goddess and god among her peers.
