In the following presentation I will be talking about respiration and the

breathing process itself.

Respiration as we know it is known as a mechanical process of breathing, the
exchange of the air between the lungs and the environment. But the
mentioned process is actually the external breathing. There is also internal
breathing, internal breathing is a simultanoeus process between the individual
body cells and the tiny capillary blood vessels.
The breathing process itself is a bit of a complicated process, but in the short
version it is pretty much understandable. The air enters the body through the
nose, it enters the nasal cavity, goes all the way to the pharynx, then on it′s
way to the lungs air passes through the larynx to the trachea. The trachea
divides into two branches, the left and the right bronchi. Each bronchus leads
to a separate lung where it divides and subdivides into smaller and finer tubes.
The air then goes through the bronchioles, enters the alveoli and then enters
the blood system where erythrocytes in the blood carry oxygen away from the
lungs to all parts of the body and carbon dioxide back to the lungs for
exhalation.
