SOME WRONG NOTIONS ABOUT
BOARD EXAM for ARCHITECTS
1. “Exam is easy and you can guess because it’s a multiple choice
type of exam.” Wrong: Since our exam is ZERO-based and it
tests your attention to small details.
2. “The MORE I MEMORIZE, the higher chances of passing the
board exam.” Wrong: Since exam also tests your focus, presence
of mind and concentration. Also, the trend is towards “situational
type” of exams.
3. “I will only study the items discussed in the review center.” Wrong:
Since REVIEW CENTERS only guide you on subject areas that
you can cover and study beyond that. REVIEW CENTERS will not
teach you everything.
SOME TIPS IN BOARD EXAM
1.) Do not be OVER-CONFIDENT.
2.) When you study, organize the topics. Start from GENERAL to specific.
Example: BT1 – Glass and Glazing
Manufacturing process
Main ingredients
Types of Glass and its commercial applications for each
Commercial size for each and spot details/manner of connection
Differentiate
Brand Name
3.) Cover as many review materials as possible. Always ask yourself “Why?” for topics
that are being studied.
4.) Visualize always. Draw.
5.) Conversion from meters to feet/inches and vice versa
SOME TIPS IN BOARD EXAM
6.) Always wear analog (non-digital watch). Budget
your total time versus the number of test items.
7.) If you don’t know the answer, skip and go to the
next item. Do this for both answer sheet and
questionnaire
8.) Read the question word for word. Board exam
tests your READING COMPREHENSION.
9.) For items which you don’t know the answer-
follow the ELIMINATION TECHNIQUE when
answering. It increases your chances of choosing
the right answer.
