Quick Marinara

1 28oz can whole San Marzano tomatoes


1c water
1/4c Extra Virgin Olive Oil
8 garlic cloves, slivered
1/4t red pepper flakes
1 tsp Kosher salt
1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
1 sprig basil

1. Crush tomatoes with your hands


2. Add 1 cup of water to can and mix around to get all tomato juices out.
Reserve
3. Preheat large skillet over medium heat, then add oil. Once oil is hot, add
garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add crushed tomatoes and reserved tomato water. Add red pepper flakes,
oregano, and salt and stir.
5. Add whole basil sprig and simmer sauce until thick, about 15 minutes -
tasting after 10 minutes to adjust seasoning.
6. Discard basil stem and serve

Makes enough for a pound of pasta.
