Activity #6

Write a two-page essay (12 pt. arial, double-spaced, 8 ½ x 11 bond paper) on how your

organization is preparing for Industry 4.0.

Organization 4.0

4.0 is the best representation on how the industry evolved from mechanical to

cyber technology. It shows that the way technology changes are upwards and never

downwards. Production of equipment in the mechanical revolution is the beginning of

industrial evolution. When electricity took place in the 19th century, the electrical

revolution used the energy being created by different sources. After electricity, the

internet entered the world, and the world has never been the same. The changes that

happened once in a lifetime is now happening daily. The fourth revolution is the “Human

Meets Cyberworld”. We could see the tablets, the iPhones, the wearables – they were

visible, but increases in our capabilities are powered by technology that moves further

out of sight, becomes invisible.

Changes brought by the Information Technology is now our ecosystem. Before,

people relied on humans to achieve what they want. In this generation, humans rely on

the existing technology. I also agree that the devices we have now is the extension of

human. Despite of all the environmental challenges brought by these changes, we can’t

deny that these integrated innovations solved most of our problems.

 My organization, SM Supermalls is one of the pioneers of cyber technology

innovation. Since the entry of 2010’s, SM Supermalls introduces the “Cyberzone”.

Cyberzone is where you can find the latest gadgets, computer paraphernalia,

accessories internet services, and more. Aside from Cyberzone, SM Supermalls

management have already adopted the digital documents processing. Microsoft made

this possible with MS Planners and MS Forms approvals. No more face-to-face

encounters, all digital. Trainings and seminars are now easier on our organization

anytime and anywhere. Microsoft helps us also with the help of MS Teams. In my

organization, I am using this technology in launching CORE (Continuous Re-alignment

for Engineers). It is a digital training and seminar that I conducted for continuous and

consistent learning in the organization.

The technology that we have today is an integral part of humanity. Without

disregarding its environmental effect, we should consider that the fourth industrial

revolution is a powerful human extension.
