Purpose: __ 3. Remove one screw and disconnect three

PJ’s.
To provide a repair to the SPDH frame at the left • One PJ is on the motor accessible by
side counterbalance mount. This will prevent lifting up the harness bracket.

wires on the two clutches. They are
permanently attached to the clutch.

__ 4. Remove all remaining screws from the Left

Counterbalance, PL 5.10 item 4, and remove
the counterbalance.
__ 5. Turn over the SPDH so the Platen pad is face
up.
__ 6. Place the Locating Template as shown and
use the drill bit to create four holes, one at
each location.

Procedure:
__ 1. Switch power OFF and disconnect the power
cord.
__ 2. Remove SPDH assembly, REP 5.18. Place it
on a secure surface.

__ 7. Remove the template and turn the SPDH __ 9. Secure the Retaining Brackets in place by

__ 10. Reinstall the three PJ’s and screw removed

in Step 3.
__ 11. Reinstall the SPDH assembly per REP 5.18.
__ 12. Inspect and adjust as needed the SPDH
Height. Refer to ADJ 5.1.

__ 13. Reconnect power cord and power on.
__ 14. Check the machine operation, SPDH skew,
and registration. Refer to ADJ 5.2 and ADJ
60.3.
