News Anchor 1 (Ybañez): Time check. The clock strikes at __ minutes after the hour of ___.
News Anchor 2 (Sison): The Socio-Psychological Tradition, the main topic for today's discussion.
Here is Andrei James D. Ybañez for further details. (effects)
Field Reporter 3 (Ybañez): In this tradition, it sees the communication as interpersonal
interaction. And just like what Ms. Magarro mentioned a while ago that interpersonal interaction
is a communication process that involves the exchange of information, feelings and meaning by
means of verbal and non-verbal messages, between two or more persons. This tradition examines
the relationship between our perceptions, meanings, standards, and roles in interpersonal
communication. The focus in the socio-psychological tradition is on the cognitive and behavioral
traits of a person. Additionally, it emphasizes interaction patterns over individual traits. Moreover,
the goal of the scholars in this tradition is to provide light on how humans take in information. As
researchers become aware of the influence that other people may have on others and how messages
can affect the mind, they also pay attention to persuasion and attitude change. This is Andrei James
D. Ybañez reporting, upholding nothing but the truth. (effects)
News Anchor 2 (Sison): This tradition can be divided into three branches: the behavioral,
cognitive, and biological.
News Anchor 1 (Ybañez): For further information in this news, here's Michaela Leonardo, Ivy
Sison, and Dale Ogorida. (effects)
Field Reporter 4 (Leonardo): Behavioral. The theorists in this branch focus on how people
behave when they are in actual communication. The way they act when they are communicating
with someone, how they interact with others. For example, if we are talking to someone we are
interested in, we tend to smile and talk a lot to show our interest with that person. Additional
information, when certain behavior is being praised, tends to be repeated and psychologists call it
"learning", and if the behavior is unlikeable they call it "unlearned." To sum it all up, this branch
focuses on BEHAVIOR of people when they are communicating and interacting with others. This
is Michaela Leonardo reporting, upholding nothing but the truth. (effects)
Field Reporter 5 (Sison): In the cognitive branch it will deal with the thoughts of a person who
are involved in a communication, that person will start to acquire information and that information
will be processed and interpreted and the information that is already interpreted can now influence
the behavioral response of a person in the communication situation. In short, what we do in a
communication depends more on our stimulus response but also depends on our mental operation
in managing and interpreting information. This is Ivy Sison reporting, upholding nothing but the
truth. (effects)
Field Reporter 6 (Ogorida): Biological. Biological is the effect of brain, and structure,
neurochemistry, and genetic factors that play a very important role in explaining human behavior.
In this theory, whatever we show or behave today is what we inherited from our parents. For
example, if your mother is a shy person, it is not unlikely that you will also have this trait because
both of you have the same genetics. This is Dale Ogorida reporting, upholding nothing but the
truth. (effects)
