1. What are the Subjects Offered in Year 9?  

Compulsory Subjects are: 

 English Language 
 Second Language Hindi/French 
 Mathematics 
 Arabic (following the Ministry of Education guidelines and curriculum – Compulsory up to End of Year 10) 
 Islamic Studies (for Muslim students following the Ministry of Education guidelines and curriculum) leading
to IGCSE Islamic Studies 
 Non-Muslim students have a choice of Environmental Management  

Optional Subjects are: You must choose any one of the SETS/ Combinations given below 
SET 1 Physics Business

SET 2 Biology Economics

SET 3 Chemistry Accounting

SET 4 ICT Psychology

Islamic Studies
Environment Management
SET 5 (Compulsory for Muslim
(offered to Non-Muslim Students only)
Students)
For Example, you can choose Biology or Economics  
You cannot choose Physics and Business
 
2.    When is the last date for selecting subjects for Current Year 8?
 
The last date to select the subject is 15th Feb 2021 

3.Can we switch subjects after 15th Feb 2021 or the middle of the Year 9 in 2022?

Yes, you can switch subjects by the end of June 2021.  

Yes, you can change the subject by mid-Year 2022 - but NOT later than January 2022; The switch can be after
Term 1 Results;  
However, Conditions apply 
If you make the change after Term 1; The student/parent shares the responsibility of covering the portion of Term
1 
Only, if there is a seat available for that subject; For example, if your child wishes to change from ICT to
Psychology than we must have a seating capacity to accommodate or else we will have to refuse the student.  
Students/Parents to write an email explaining the reason for the change.  

4.Eligible Score to Choose Sciences

 
Students will not be given seats for any of the science subjects, if they score less than 65% in their Final Exams of
Year 8  
Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology each of subjects has a cutoff percentage - 65%.
