Description:
The Defence Academy Library enquiry system provides access to the
libraries catalog. The library has approximately 300,000 volumes with collection
strengths in military history and Australiana.
Network Access:
Telnet to library.adfa.oz.au (131.236.1.13) to obtain access to the
campus LAN and hence to the Library enquiry system. When prompted for a
"destination" enter "library". Login in using "E".
Miscellaneous:
Access is also available to the Mihilist database (currently free)
which covers Australian military history and to the Austlit database covering
Australian literature.

Description:
ALICE is the online library system providing access to details of all
items held at Deakin University Library (Geelong and Warrnambool Campuses), and
is the Library of the Gordon Technical College. The database covers 250,000

Description:
The online public access catalogue (OPAC) of the Griffith University
Library provides access to over 250 000 bibliographic records for the majority
of
monographs and serials at the Nathan campus of the University. From early
1991, the catalogue will also provide access to approximately 70 000
bibliographic records for all monographs and serials held at the Mount Gravatt
campus of the University and the Gold Coast University College of Griffith
University. The Griffith University Library OPAC uses the Geac library software.
It may be searched by author, title, author/title combinations, classification
number and other numbers, subject and keyword. Boolean searching on a
combination of indexes will also be available from 1991.

The Griffith University Library OPAC is available on AARNET by telnet
to the host library.gu.edu.au.

Description:
The online public access catalogue at R.M.I.T. provides access to the
Collective collections at R.M.I.T., the Victorian College of the Arts and the
Victorian College of Pharmacy with access to over 250,000 bibliographic
records. The majority of these are housed at the Central Library at R.M.I.T.,
therefore the default Library search mode for the Catalogue is the R.M.I.T.
Central Library.

Press return. This will give you a brief menu asking you to either type:

Type MATLAS at the "Which System ? " prompt. This enters the library
system.

Description:
The Library uses the URICA system, running on a General Automation Pick
system. Access to several ports, logged permanently to the catalogue enquiry
account, is provided through the Institute VAX network for ANSI X3.64 (VT100)
terminals.
Network Access:
Telnet to the Institute VAX at the Levels campus (lv.sait.edu.au
130.220.16.6). At the Username prompt, enter OPAC to connect to the Library
catalogue (no password needed).
Miscellaneous:
Note carefully the command options given in the introductory screen.
Particularly note the exit command CTRL \ which allows you to step back from
the Library system to the VAX.

Catalogue of the University of Adelaide Libraries (includes the Law

Network Access:
In order to access the Catalogue, you will need a VT100-compatible
terminal or microcomputer with VT100 terminal emulation.
This will connect your terminal with the library computer system.
It is essential that you type this in lower case. You will then be
connected to the Catalogue.
When you have finished your search, select logoff from the menu. This
will disconnect your session.
Most screens have options which are listed at the foot of the screen.
To take a particular option, type the Capitalised letter(s) of that option.

Description:
The University of Newcastle Online Catalogue (Alleycat) provides access
to four databases, namely: Auchmuty, Huxley, Central Coast and Gardiner. The
first three databases represent the campus libraries; Gardiner Library
Service is the hospital library service associated with the University.
The catalogues are available seven days a week. Currently the system is
heavily used and it will be appreciated if external users access the catalogue
during off- peak period; i.e. before 10:00 or after 15:00 (Australian Eastern
Standard Time) on weekdays.
Network Access:
The catalogue assumes a VT100-compatible terminal capable of displaying
132 columns. A help screen is available through the PF2 key. Press the TAB key
to go to the next field. All enquiries are menu-driven.

Description:
The PALS online catalogue provides access to the holdings of all
University of Queensland libraries. Approximately 650,000 titles covering all
books, periodicals, maps, films, videos, audiocassettes and music scores are
included.

Description:
The UWA Library holds over 1 million volumes, in 11 library locations,
including Reid Library (Humanities and Social Sciences), Medical Library, Law
Library, FIZ Library (Mathematics and Physical Sciences), Biological Sciences
Library (two locations), Music Library, Geology Library, Zoology Library,
Dental Library and some other branches.
The UWA online catalogue contains approximately 650,000 bibliographic
records, and includes the holdings of Edith Cowan University (formerly WACAE).
Full holding details of UWA items are shown, with summary holdings of ECU
titles. Further retrospective conversion is underway.
The UWA online catalogue uses the URICA software, which will be familiar
to many users.

This will log you out of the online catalogue. Disconnect from your
telnet session as usual.
Miscellaneous:
The system is capable of using any terminal type. The preferred type is
VT100 or VT100-compatible. Other terminal types will display an unformatted
screen.
