What is enema?
Enemas are injections of fluids used to
cleanse or stimulate the emptying of
your bowel.
What
is
the
enema
used
for?
The reasons of enema:
•Constipation
•Colon cleansing
•Lower GI X-ray
•Inflammatory bowel disease

What does an enema feel like?

An enema can be uncomfortable. Inserting a lubricated tube into your

rectum and filling your colon with fluid isn't the most natural act, but it
shouldn't be painful.
 Does it hurt?

An enema shouldn't cause pain. But if

you're performing an enema for the
first time, you may experience some
minor discomfort.
Process of enema:
Nausea
Vomiting
perforation of the rectal
leading to chemical imbalances
mild abdominal discomfort
Can you use enema more than once?

Do not use more than 1 enema in any 24-hour period
