“Evil takes a human form in Regina George”

Regina George is a heartless driven high schooler, who will utilize anything and

everything she can to remain popular. Regina George is one of the main characters in the 2004,

award-winning movie “Mean Girls”, she is most definitely the antagonist, as she causes

everyone around her to lose their minds. As mentioned before, Regina is a how you would say

popular girl, she is someone people want validation from. Although she is very popular, Regina

is manipulative and capable of doing whatever she wants to attain anything.

Regina George is at the top of the food chain at North Shore High. She is known as the

“Queen Bee '' and was the leader of the recently fallen “The Plastics”. George is followed by her

two minions, Gretchen Weiners and Karen Smith. At the beginning of the movie, she had just

broken up with the totally hot, popular, Aaron Samuels, and is dating Shane Oman (I promise

this is important later). Now, since Regina is the antagonist, we also have the protagonist, Cady

Heron. Cady is new to the school as she had been home-schooled her whole life and lived in

Africa. Regina takes a fast liking to Cady and to Regina, Cady was "so fortunate to have The

Plastics," to direct her absence from "social suicide". Regina and Cady end up being companions

at the beginning of the movie since Regina welcomes Cady to the table of “The Plastics' '. We get

to Regina’s first trait which is being heartless when a Halloween Party is thrown. Cady had been

at North Shore High for a few weeks at this point and Aaron invited her to his Halloween Party.

Who would give that up? Cady ends up showing up at this party wearing something scary

because it’s Halloween right? Every other single girl at this party is dressed up and looking

sleazy, Cady totally did not get the memo. She ends up finding Gretchen and Karen chatting

away until she sees Regina talking with Aaron in the kitchen. Anyone would think that their

friend is trying to set them up, but in this case, it is completely worse. We pan over to Regina’s
conversation with Aaron. It is not going well for Cady. Regina says to Aaron, “You know that

girl Cady? Well, be careful because she has a huge crush on you. She’s like a little girl. She, like

writes all over her notebook, “Mrs. Aaron Samuels.” And she made this T-shirt that says “I heart

Aaron” and she wears it under all her clothes. And okay, look, I’m not saying she’s a stalker, but

she saved this Kleenex you used and she said she is going to do some kind of voodoo with it to

make you like her. I know she is kind of socially weird, but she’s my friend, so just promise me

you won’t make fun of her.” Then, the unthinkable could happen, Regina kisses Aaron! Cady

completely freaks out and runs out of the party upset. Regina has this evil smile on her face like

she is proud of herself. Regina George is completely heartless.

Regina easily can manipulate others. Like this one-time for example, she persuaded her

parents so hard to give her their master bedroom, and guess what happened? They gave it to her.

But, her specialty comes into play with her phone games. She does these three-way calls to get

her friends to say something bad about one another behind their backs. One time, Regina called

Cady whereas Gretchen was tuning in on the call, and controlled her into saying many terrible

things about Gretchen, before suddenly finishing the call and taking off while the others were

confused and angry. Regina George is a manipulator.

As we can see, Regina George is a very interesting character. Now, Regina has the most

epic breakdown at the end of the movie. Cady ends up taking her place as “Queen Bee” and

Regina loses it. There is this book called “The Burn Book” and it has pictures of all of the girls

in the school and mean captions underneath. When Regina goes to that book she cuts out a photo

of Cady and calls her every mean name in the book. It isn’t until all of the girls are piled into the

gymnasium. The teacher asks, “Who has been bullied by Regina George?” and almost every girl

raises their hand. It also isn’t until Regina is yelling at Cady in front of the school where Regina
gets hit by a bus…and lives. Don’t worry she doesn’t get majorly hurt, only her neck in a brace.

At the Prom, Cady is awarded “Prom Queen”. Cady ends up splitting the crown into pieces and

Regina gets a piece. Regina ends up taking on sports to deal with her anger, and everyone ends

up being civil.

Regina George is many things, and dumb isn’t one of them. She is heartless and

manipulative. We do see a whole character development happen with her, she changes her whole

demeanor around, which is good. That was the character analysis of Regina George.
