1. What dances influences hip hop dance?


- Hip-hop dance emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s, inspired by African dance
movements, and flourished as a new style of dance performed on the street for the
people. Hip-hop combines elements of modern dance, tap, and swing, combining music
and complex movements to create artistry.

2. What is the main purpose of hip hop dance?


- The main objective of hip hop dance is to attract an audience and entertain a large
group of people.

3. Why is hip hop considered as a culture?


- Hip Hop is considered a culture because it, without a doubt, embraces artistic elements.
However, it has also blended and transcended them to become a means of seeing,
celebrating, experiencing, comprehending, confronting, and commenting on life and the
world. In other words, hip hop is a way of life—a culture.

4. What is it that makes hip hop/breakdance so popular?


- The use of music in the dance makes it enjoyable to watch and perform, as it can
captivate audiences with its combination of sharp and fluid movements. It's a popular
and energetic dance style that's usually accompanied by hip-hop music. It is well-liked
by young people all over the world. Because of these factors, it has become the most
popular dance form in existence today.

5. Why do you think so many young people, especially teens, enjoy hiphop/breakdance?
- Young people enjoy hip-hop dance because it allows them to create their own moves. It
takes them out of their comfort zone. It allows them to express their personalities and
emotions in new ways. Hip-hop dance also demonstrates that they are optimistic about
life and are not afraid of problems.
