1. What is statistics?
- Statistics is any effort to measure or collect information that is subject to a variety of
sources of variation. Statistics is an excellent learning concept. It also analyzes massive
amounts of numerical data.

2. What is the formula for getting the mean, median, and mode for UNGROUPED DATA?
- When calculating for mean, mean equals to sum of all entries divided by number of
entries.
- Median = [(n+1)/2]th observation, if n is odd. Median = mean of (n/2)th observation and
[(n/2)+1]th observation, if n is even.
- Mode = Observation with maximum frequency

3. What is the formula for getting the mean, median, and mode for GROUPED DATA?
- Mode = The sum of the products divided by the total number of values
- Median = [l + ((n/2) – cf)/f)h ]
- Mode = l + [(f1-f0)/(2f1-f0-f2)]×h

4. Write the formula for computing the Standard Deviation and Variance for GROUPED DATA.
- Standard Deviation: (1/N) ∑ni=1 fixi.
- Variance: Σni(mi-μ)2 / (N-1)
