Good morning ma’am, I am Nathaniel Jay R.

Sumalinog a BS Chemistry student and today I will talk

about the kind of education I dream for Filipinos, but first here are some issues that the Philippine
education are facing.

Our present educational system have many problems that are facing. According to the results of the
2014 National Achievement Test (NAT) and the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE), the
status of primary and secondary education has declined. The country also continues to have one of the
lowest budget allocations for education among ASEAN members and due to the issue of money, having
education as a status symbol, there is still a significant disparity in learning efforts across various social
groups. There is also no equal access to education in the country, and lastly. Significant shortfalls in
classrooms, teachers, and other tools to support sound learning are also a major issue.

And as for science and technology, it really has refined our lives. With the advancement of technology in
the educational field, the process of learning and knowledge sharing has become more interactive. For
example, thanks to technological advancements, all of our difficult daily tasks can now be easily done.
Because of the use of technology, people's lives have improved.

The kind of education I hope for Filipinos and the Philippine society as a whole is one in which students
learn about life, where they can practice what they understand and are curious about, and where they
can share what they know and how they feel about it. I envision of an education that teaches students
great and noble things, that will inspire other students to keep going in life and learn more about the
world even when they are in their desperate times.
Do you think our present educational system is the proper means to realize the kind of education you
dream for the Filipinos? Why or why not?

 Many Filipinos lack access to computers and other digital tools at home, making blended
learning ineffective. As a result, the importance of technology in education affects a large
number of students. The following are the top concerns of parents and guardians: money for
mobile load, lack of gadget, poor internet signal, students' inability to focus and learn online,
and parents' lack of knowledge of their children's lessons.

List of Issues When it Comes to the Philippines’ Education System

 Quality - According to the results of the 2014 National Achievement Test (NAT) and the National
Career Assessment Examination (NCAE), the status of primary and secondary education has
declined.
 Budget - The country continues to have one of the lowest budget allocations for education
among ASEAN members.
 Cost - Due to the issue of money, having education as a status symbol, there is still a significant
disparity in learning efforts across various social groups.
 Drop-out Rate (Out-of-School Youth) - Due to the negative effects of COVID-19, the growing rate
of OSY has become daunting.
 Mismatch - A large number of people are unemployed or underpaid as a result of a large
mismatch between training and actual jobs.
 Social divide - There is no equal access to education in the country.
 Lack of resources - Significant shortfalls in classrooms, teachers, and other tools to support
sound learning are also a major issue.

With the advent of science and technology in society, how did it affect your outlook on achieving the
best education to prepare you for the future?

 With the advancement of technology in the educational field, the process of learning and
knowledge sharing has become more interactive. The most significant impact of technology on
education is the shift in our worldview. Science and technology, in my opinion, have refined our
lives. For example, thanks to technological advancements, all of our difficult daily tasks can now
be easily done. Because of the use of technology, people's lives have improved.
