VACATION BENEFITS
In reply to your letter of 07 September 2022 Vacation Benefits, I wish to inform you that you
are entitled to full Benefits for yourself with effect from the first of January next year
according to the Terms and Conditions of your employment.
The maximum value of your benefits is $5 000.00 which is subject to income Tax deductions
under the provision of the law. As a result, your maximum benefits will be calculated as
follows:

(a) Income tax $1 680.64


(b) Net Benefits $3 319.36
Your spouse, shall also be entitled for Vacation Benefits in accordance with the Term and
Conditions of your employment. In support of your claims, please forward documentary
proof of marriage:
(a) Birth Certificate of spouse (with affidavit where necessary)
(b) Marriage Certificate
In making your claims you are reminded that:
1 The amount of your Vacation Benefits is calculated on an individual basis and you
should not exceed your allowances.
2 If the cost of your travel ticket is less than your Vacation Benefits allowance, the
company will pay the cost of hotel accommodation to the amount of the difference
between the cost of your travel ticket and your Vacation Benefits Allowance.
3 If the whole amount of your Vacation Benefits Allowance is not utilized, the
reminder cannot be used for any other purpose.
On completion of your arrangements for travel, please ask your Travel agent to send me a
statement showing the following:
1 Itinerary
2 Cost of Traveling
I will then dispatch a Purchase order to your Travel agent who must forward me an invoice
and the ticket(s) before I can make any payment.
Should it be necessary for you to change or cancel arrangements, please inform me so that the
necessary action can be taken. Should you proceed on your vacation overseas, you must
submit your ticket stub(s) to the Human Resources Department within one week of your
resumption of duties for the completion of your vacation records.

Vacation Employment Programme
With reference to your application for employment during the summer vacation, we
are delighted to offer you a position in our vacation employment programme, as a trainee in
the Purchasing Department at our Central Office for the period Monday,4 to Friday 26
august, 2022
You will report to the Purchasing Officer or to the person he/she may assign to supervise you
during your training period.
The terms of condition of your employment are as stated below:
1 Hours of Work

The hours of work will be from 7.45 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
with one hour off for lunch
2 Attendance
A company’s Identification Card will be supplied to you for identification
purposes only. At the end of your training period, you will be required to return
the ID card to the Purchasing Officer or your Supervisor
You will be required to sign an attendance Register upon arrival and on departure
in the department to which you are assigned
3 Allowances

you will be paid stipend of $2,00.00 per month during your training period.
Deduction for Income Tax and National Insurance contributions will be taken out
from your earnings.

4 Absences

You are encouraged to report to work every day so as to gain full benefit of the
training. If you have to be absent for any reason, please inform your department
manager (or the person supervising your training) in advance or call in the
morning on the day you will be absent. Should you be absent for more than two
consecutive days, you will be required to supply a medical certificate.
5 Notice of Termination

Termination of services by you or the Company may become effective with a lest
four days’ notice by either party, except in the case when you are dismissed for
one reason or the other, your services will be terminated without notice and
without remuneration other than for earnings which you would have already
worked for and not paid up to the time of your employment ended.
If you accept this offer, we shall be grateful if you would sign and return the
attached acceptance form signifying your acceptance of the terms and conditions.

NEW DOORWAY: Make door opening in the walls the end and the passage to lend to the

front office (shown an the drawing) and provide and fix 7.5 cm deal rebated door frame

extended to the full height. Provide and hang with 10 cm steel butts 2 deal across to match

existing doors. Put deal molded architraves with plinth blocks to both sides and fix mortise

lever lock with brass door furniture all to match existing. Fill in space over the doors with 5

cm breeze rendered both sides in Portland Cement and furniture in Siraphite. Make good

cornices, pictures rails and skirting as required.

CEILING, CORNICES AND FRIEZES: Cut out cracks and properly make good. Wash off

and twice emulsion paint (Deluxe).

WALLS: Cut out the defective plasters under windows and mix good in cement and sand.

Strip the dado to the passage and properly make good any defective plaster. Wash down

properly prepare and twice paint, walls.

WOODWORK: Wash down, properly prepare and paint all wood and other work previously

or usually painted, 2 coats Deluxe. All new wood to be primed and painted an additional coat.

(The Bus Stop. A “Line” of people wait immediately)

JOHN walks up to a middle-age woman who is standing at the back of the line and taps her

on the shoulder.

JOHN: Good evening, fergie. Need any help with your luggage today?

MRS. FERGUSSON: Yes please, this bag is killing this old girl.

(Mrs. Fergusson hands a heavy looking bag to john)

JOHN; What time do you think the bus will come today?

MRS.FERGUSSON: Well let’s see… The bus is supposed to come at 5:20. But it came at

5:18 yesterday and you know that the buss can’t be early two days in

the same week so I’m guessing that it will come at…

(Mrs. Fergusson checks her watch)

About 6:00

(john laughs)

JOHN: I Just hope we don’t get the same bus driver as yesterday. He drives

soooo slow! Every time he sees a good looking woman at the side of

the road he slows down and tries to flirt with her.


MRS, FERGUSSON: She doesn’t even have to be all that good looking.

(John laughs, A Strange dressed woman walks past. John nudges Mrs.

Fergusson and points at the woman)

JOHN: You see what that woman is wearing?

MRS.FERGUSSON: How could I miss it?

JOHN: What kind of friends allows a person to step out of the house looking

like that?

MRS. FERGUSSON: Blind ones? I can’t understand…

The secretary reported that the application for a bar license at this year’s Annual Dinner
and Dance had been approved.
4. ARRANGEMENTS FOR ANNUAL DINNER AND DANCE

Miss West announced that she had made arrangements for the Paul Smithson Group to
play at a fee of $200. She also stated that the printing of tickets was in progress.
After a lengthy discussion it was agreed to increase the price of a double ticket for
$21.00.
